Paul Cassidy

Paul Cassidy (pictured here at his graduation show at Glargow School Of Art, 1991)  is an artist living and working in Glasgow. Paul studied fine art at the Glasgow School of Art, specialising in printmaking. Paul is known for his pop art screenprints and his association with Glasgow Print Studio. In recent years Paul has been working on a series of Icons. These Icons have intricate hand-made frames and are carefully finished with a distressed surface to look like old religious icons of saints. Paul's love of pop culture comes through in his choice of modern day heroes which are printed and applied to the surface by hand and finished with a 24 carat gold leaf halo.
